The women of Cascade Harmony meet regularly to practice, refine our skills, perform, socialize, and have fun. We currently have about 40 singers, from age 16 to 82, who are nurses, accountants, teachers, business owners, retirees - from all walks of life, and from all parts of the Portland metro/Willamette Valley area.
We love to sing! We sing at shows, community events, private/corporate parties, annual competitions and more. We are available to sing at your next function or event. If you're looking for a unique musical experience to liven up your event, please check our Hire Us section.
In addition to performing, another great passion of ours is the continual honing of the art of acapella singing. Vocal instruction is a regular part of chorus rehearsals, and a very important component of the chorus experience. We have regular coaches who help us refine our vocal skills, and we learn many tricks of the trade.
In the spring of every year, Cascade Harmony Chorus participates in the Region 24 chorus competition in Spokane, Washington. Competitions are a special time for quartets and choruses from our region to come together to sing for each other, and get some constructive feedback from a panel of judges. The winners of the regional competition in both quartet and chorus categories travel to International Competition, which is held in the fall in a city selected each year. In 2012, International Competition will be held in Denver. The region's first place quartet, Soundwave, of which all four members belong to Cascade Harmony, will be competing there this year. Most choruses have a number of members who form their own quartets in addition to singing with the chorus. Cascade Harmony currently is home to a number of wonderful quartets, and we are very proud of them! See our quartet section to learn more.
