Cascade Harmony Chorus

About Us

Chorus members showing off regional medals.
The award-winning Cascade Harmony chorus includes women from throughout the northern Willamette Valley who share a love of singing four-part a cappella music. We rehearse once a week and perform for various events throughout the area. We participate in workshops and enjoy competing yearly at the Sweet Adelines' regional competition.

At regional competition in 2009, Cascade Harmony Chorus placed second in the mid-sized chorus division and fourth overall.

The music we sing is identified by its close, unaccompanied four-part harmonies and ringing chords. Barbershop is a uniquely American art form - and it's so much fun to sing. When we make those barbershop chords ring - well, there's just nothing like it.

The Four Parts:

  • Lead - melody
  • Tenor - the highest voice in barbershop. It complements but does not overpower the lead.
  • Baritone - has the same range as lead but its harmony is sometimes above and sometimes below the lead notes.
  • Bass - the rich, mellow low harmony below the melody.
